Mountain Home Health Care hosted its 21st Annual Hospice Memorial Service to celebrate life and cherish the memories of those we lost in 2016.The service was held on November 13, 2016 at the St James Episcopal Church on 208 Camino De Santiago, in Taos.
More than ninety family members, friends, and volunteers gathered for the service; visiting a special memory table where they displayed their loved ones’ photo or wrote a favorite memory to hang on the branch of the memory tree. Taos Threshold singers and harpist Julie Norem-Hawley provided songs and music throughout the service in which a single fresh rose was presented to each family in honor of their loved one.
Hospice CEO Jim Crouse, medical social worker Janine Carasso, and spiritual care coordinator Rose Gordon spoke of the journey of life and death and the honor experienced by Mountain Home Health Hospice staff as they served these brave individuals and their families.
The afternoon ended with reminiscences over special times the family had enjoyed with their special person and the festive sharing of desserts their loved ones had enjoyed.
